Hot Spring

Kyushu has many hot springs because it is a volcanic region. Active volcanoes like Mount Aso heat underground water, creating natural hot springs. This makes Kyushu one of the best places for hot springs in Japan.

BEPPU

Oita Prefecture

Beppu is one of Japan's most famous hot spring areas, known for its variety of hot springs called "Hells of Beppu" (Jigoku). These colorful, steaming hot springs are for viewing, not bathing. Beppu also offers various types of baths, including mud baths, steam baths, and sand baths, making it a unique and popular destination.
